DataHop Terms of Use

The rules for using DataHop, the app that sends files directly between iPhone, iPad, Android, Mac and Windows PC. Written to be read.

Effective 20 September 2026Version 1.0Asoltu Tech by Nikhil Rokadiya

1. Agreement

These terms are between you and Asoltu Tech by Nikhil Rokadiya ("we", "us") and cover your use of DataHop, our app for transferring files directly between your devices (iPhone, iPad, Android, Mac and Windows PC). By installing or using DataHop you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use it. Our Privacy Policy explains how data is handled and forms part of these terms.

2. What DataHop does

DataHop moves files from one of your devices to another over an encrypted, direct connection, in any direction between the supported platforms. A small online relay helps two devices find each other; it never receives your files. We do not store, scan or have access to the files you transfer.

3. Licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use DataHop on devices you own or control, for your own lawful purposes. On the Apple App Store, the Apple standard licensed application end user licence agreement also applies. If it conflicts with these terms on a matter it covers, Apple's terms prevail on that matter. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, resell or rent DataHop, except where the law allows it regardless of this term.

4. Your responsibilities

  • You are responsible for the files you send and receive. Only send files you have the right to send.
  • Do not use DataHop to send unlawful, infringing, harmful or malicious content, or to send files to people who have not agreed to receive them.
  • Only accept files from devices you know and trust. Check the device name and the file list before accepting.
  • Keep your devices and their operating systems up to date and protect your own device access.
  • Do not interfere with the relay or attempt to overload or attack it.

5. Ads and Ad-Free

DataHop is free and shows ads (currently one full-screen ad after every 2 completed transfers). Ads come from Google AdMob and are non-personalized; see the Privacy Policy. You can remove ads with Ad-Free. On iPhone and iPad it is an auto-renewing yearly subscription (in India ₹299 per year; the price and period in your country are shown in the app before you buy). Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase and renews every year unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends. You can manage or cancel the subscription in your Apple Account settings at any time, or with Manage subscription in the app; cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep Ad-Free until the paid period ends. Payment, refunds and receipts are handled by Apple under Apple's terms. You can restore the subscription on a new device with Restore purchase. In the iPhone and iPad app the only payment method is the App Store. Where Ad-Free is offered on other platforms (currently Android), the payment provider shown at checkout processes the payment. Ad-Free removes ads in the app; it does not change how transfers work.

6. Third-party services

DataHop relies on services from others, including Apple (App Store and in-app purchase), Google (ads, hosting) and, on Android, a payment provider (payments). Their own terms and policies apply to those services. We are not responsible for their availability or conduct.

7. Availability and changes

We work to keep DataHop and the relay running but do not promise uninterrupted service. Direct transfers depend on your networks; some networks (for example guest Wi-Fi or corporate networks) block devices from reaching each other. We may change, suspend or stop features, and we may update these terms; the date above will change and, where a change matters, we will say so in the app's release notes. Continuing to use DataHop after a change means you accept it.

8. Ownership

DataHop, its name, logo and code belong to Asoltu Tech by Nikhil Rokadiya and its licensors. You keep all rights to your own files. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of anything to either side, other than the licence above.

9. No warranty

To the fullest extent the law allows, DataHop is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that a transfer will always succeed, arrive complete, or be free of errors. Keep a copy of files you cannot afford to lose.

10. Limit of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of data, profit or goodwill, arising from your use of DataHop. Our total liability for any claim relating to DataHop is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the 12 months before the claim (which may be zero if you use the free version). Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, such as for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or consumer rights you have under the law of your country.

11. Ending

You can stop using DataHop at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or misuse the service. Sections that by their nature should survive (such as ownership, warranty, liability and governing law) survive ending.

12. Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer rights you have where you live. Questions or notices: info@asoltu.com.
